Despite the Toronto International Film Festival just ending last Sunday, some of the films that played are already here. MOTHER! opened while the event was in full-swing and now Buffalo gets two more in Stronger (the story of Jim Bauman and his fight against the celebrity bestowed upon him after surviving the Boston Marathon bombing starring Jake Gyllenhaal) and Brad's Status (the story of a man in the midst of a narration-heavy crisis of identity from Mike White). Both play Dipson Theatres Amherst with STRONGER also hitting Regal Cinemas Transit.
North Park Theatre also has a couple films of note to go along with a second week of THE WOMEN'S BALCONY. First is the late Harry Dean Stanton's final film Lucky playing one night (Sunday 9/24 at 7:00pm). Second is the 4K restoration of Terminator 2 (T2) as the late show every day this week (it is not being projected in 3D). See website for specific times.
